I'm using an HP Deskjet F2400 All-in-One Series Printer connected to an Acer Aspire E 15 laptop. For some reason I can no longer change the printer settings to allow grayscale with double sided printing. The printer is locked into permanent colour printing on single sided paper.

I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the HP printer software programmes for the F2400 without any success. I have tried changing the shortcut setting in the HP Solution Centre without success, it appears to be locked into a 'General Everyday Printing' shortcut.

I have also tried creating a new shortcut for grayscale and double sided printing without any success. I have also considered restoring the PC to its default factory settings, but I'm not sure if this will solve my problem. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas which may help?

Hi Dave, Based on the information that you've provided, you can no longer change the printer settings to allow grayscale with double-sided printing. To help you with this, we recommend creating a new local administrator account and check if the issue replicates. This is for us to isolate if the issue is related to your account.

To do this, please follow the steps on this. If the issue replicates on the newly created account, we suggest that you perform an in-place upgrade using an ISO file to repair any broken system files while keeping your personal files, settings, and installed applications.
