Hp Jetadmin Windows 98
I apologize if I am misunderstanding. The HP JetDirect should be connected directly to your network (hub or switch), not to a server on your network. The printer would then connect to the JetDirect server via the USB port. Once it is plugged into your network you should be able to configure it from any Windows 9x, NT, 2000, or XP workstation using the software on the enclosed CD.
If you don't have that CD it can be downloaded from HP's website per the previous post. Once the print server is configured, you can then configure all of the computers to print to it via the HP software in a peer-to-peer format. Conversly, if you want to connect the printer to the the Windows98 'server', you wouldn't need the JetDirect at all.

Justmake the printer sharable on the 98 server (I think there is even a wizard to help with this) and access it from the other PC's.
I assume you mean printing directly to a printer attached to a network. You need tcp/ip installed and running, if you don't have a DHCP server such as an NT domain controller, you will need to assign ip addresses manually for the network cards in each machine. Ask if you don't know how to. Hp 39gs Driver Windows 7 here. If your printer(s) don't have network cards built in, you will need to buy printer servers. These normally come with client software to install on each computer so the printers can be configured as normal in the printers folder.
This is a rapid overview, if you want details, do ask. RE: Windows 98 TCP/IP Printing (MIS). Epson Lq 300 Windows Xp Driver.
Ok, let me explain a little more. We have a Windows 98 DHCP PC on one subnet printing to an HP LaserJet 4 w/ static TCP/IP address running on its JetDirect Card along with IPX on another subnet. My question is not how I set it up or whatever, thats easy and I know that.
Tema Kpop Untuk Hp Laptop. My question is does Windows 98 have an LPR printing service that you have to install to support this? One of the people I work with said we might need to get the Windows 98 Resource kit to print to an IP from 98 since he didn't think it allowed TCP/IP printing natively.
I use NT 4.0 on my PC here at work, and to print to an IP we have to install Microsoft TCP/IP Printing Services. Once we do that, I can add a port and pick LPR port, then give it the printers IP and name and viola, printouts! I just need to know if there is something I need to install to all that in Windows 98 or if its included. RE: Windows 98 TCP/IP Printing. Inorder for Win98 to print to network assigned (IP) printers you need software to do that. As far as I know there is no software in the resource kit to do this.
Now you van use HP jetadmin software for this. It comes with jet direct cards and print servers. This is your best bet. Install the jetadmin software for network printers. RE: Windows 98 TCP/IP Printing (MIS).
I figured that Microsoft would include a TCP/IP service to print to IP in Windows 98, but I guess they don't think IP is used as much as there own protocol. I tried to get a latest version of JetAdmin from HP's site, they no longer allow you to download it. So I am hosed unless I can find one of the admin's with a copy for Windows 32-bit/98. Also, I've used JetAdmin to manage PC's remotely and set them up to be printed via IP and IPX in NT 4.0 (yuck). I have never seen the option to install software on a PC to be able to print via TCP/IP to one of there printers.
