I am trying to use the Photosmart C8180 All-in-one to scan slides onto my computer. Everytime I attempt to do so I get the error message that 'the tma cover is not removed, or the template is not in place correctly. The TMA cover IS removed and the template IS in the correct place. Also every time this happens the printer freezes with the loading graphic. I used the scanner to scan some slides earlier, and it worked.

Hello @Hollyby, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! I see you are running into scan issues. I would like to help.I would recommend performing a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in.

Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar. I would then recommend following this document on Error Message: 'Remove any originals from the scanner glass'. Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

- Why would you wanna do something like that, sounds like one big mess to me. Basically you have PROD_ID PROD_NAME SOMETHING LOTS_OF_OTHER_ATTRIBUTES ---------- ---------- ---------- ------------------------- 100 Smile L xyz 100 Smile S xyz And now want to turn it into PROD PROD_NAME SOMETHING LOTS_OF_OTHER_ATTRIBUTES ---- ---------- ---------- ------------------------- 100L Smile L L xyz 100S Smile S S xyz Using some logic that nobody understands. Regards Peter. Hello FinalVestige, Is the this first time you have tried running the scanners from this laptop or did it work before this. Will they work from other computers? Does it show up in the Device Manager?

Right click My Computer and choose Manage. In the new window, choose Device Manager. It should be listed under Imaging devices and/or Other devices. Usually the first thing we do on scanners, printers, all in ones that dont initiate with the OS is to completely uninstall and reinstall the software and drivers. IF you have not done so, I would try that first. I would use REVO uninstaller (free portable version) to uninstall it first (it will help remove any leftover files), then go to Run/regedit and look for any left over registry files from the HP scanner and remove them. Ie:HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Hewlett-Packard and also HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Hewlett-Packard Also look for anything left over in AppData (unhide folder in View) and in Programs folder.

Then install the latest drivers from HP. Windows 7 64bit full featured Are you also teathered via USB? Try a different port (and cable if you have one). Hopefully this is all thats needed. Let me know what happens.

Hi, I have a HP Scanjet G3110 where I'm trying to scan some negatives to files. I have downloaded and installed the latest HP Scanning software v14.0.1.41 but it seems it does not help with negatives scanning.

The problem is when I choose the scanning option 'Negatives to File' option and the scanning type is set to 'Negatives (TMA)', the TMA light in the scanner's led is never lit up and it scan's the negatives as they are normal pics on the scanner's glass. However, when I chose the scanning option 'Slides to File' and the scanning type is set to 'Slides or positives (TMA)', TMA light switches on, which means it is not the lamp problem. It is eaither a software bug or something that I'm missing, can anyone help, please? In fact, that response does not help at all, and I'm sorry to say it conveys a message that my post was not read carefully The problem I'm facing has nothing to do with the hardware nor the TMA led, as it works fine when I choose the option to scan positives/slides from the HP Scanning software. Only it doesn't come up when I choose scan negatives! It used to work in earlier versions, now it does not work with the latest one!All troubleshooting mentioned in the guide talk about waiting for the led to warm up or make sure the TMA cable is connected!! Hi, I have a scenario where a BPM is used to send document to a 3rd Party system, which ends upon receipt of a Technical message ack (TMA) carrying the Correlation ID in it. However, there are instances wherein a duplicate document in sent to the 3rd party and in such cases a TMA is not sent back to XI.
